Maha Shivaratri Mid night pooja

March 11, 2024 by Vidhyaa Leave a Comment

Fort the last few years, I have been attending the third prahar pooja or the mid night pooja at Hoodi Shiva Temple. This year too, I went around 11.30 and the abhishekam and pooja went on until 1.45 AM. The temple, I believed is privately owned and so, the influential people and their clan get the space to sit on first priority. This year too, I had a place to stand and witnessed the pooja completely and it was definitely good. Particularly, the deeparadhanai shown after the God is decorated with lights off will definitely give goosebumps. It ended 1.45 AM it ended and by 2.00 AM, we went to Devi Karumariamman temple in Whitefield. One of the most spiritual places in Bangalore where you can actually find calmness. More about the temple in a separate post. The temple was spacious and had very few people unlike the Hoodi Shiva temple and Whitefield Shiva Temple. The Presiding deity here is Lord Shiva in the name of Ekambareshwar along with Goddess Kamakshi.

Here are a few pics from my visit –

We reached there at around 2.00 or so and the pooja went on until 2.45. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had recently. For some reason, I couldnt control my tears in front of Lord Shiva here. There way the music band placed Lingashtakam elevated the spiritual experience. At the end, we were served Prasad which included fruits, kesari, and rava upma. If you stay in and around Whitefield, please do visit this temple. If you would like me to share more information about this temple, the Prathyangira pooja that happens here on Amavasya, then please do comment below.
