There are many many ways to worship Sai Baba. Some people go to His temple every Thursday, some people forego their favourite food until their wish is fulfilled by Him, some offer prasad at temples, some give alms to needs, some offer food to animals and food, etc etc. One such way of offering our prayers to Sai Baba is to read the Sai Satsaritram Book. I have one with me too. How did I get the book is pretty interesting in itself. My parents had been to Shirdi and they had bought one Sai Satsaritram Book Tamil version for dad’s friend and a picture for me. But when they showed me the book, I thought it was for me and even without asking them, I happily took it to my pooja shelf and kept it there. Seeing that, my parents left the book with me itself 🙂 So, thats how I got the book or rather Sai Baba blessed me with the book. For those who do not have access to the hard copy, I am here with sharing you the pdf version.

To complete a Saptah Parayan (reading Sai Satsaritram in 7 days), start on a Thursday and read all 51 chapters by the following Wednesday. You can divide the chapters as per your convenience, such as reading a set number of chapters in the morning and the rest in the evening. It’s recommended to offer Prasad or Dakshina to Sai Baba after completion, either at your home temple or a nearby Sai temple.

Detailed Steps:
Start: Begin on a Thursday.
Preparation: Take bath, offer a prayer (can be a simple thing like chanting “Sai Ram” or a detailed one at the pooja shelf as per your convenience. Pray to Him to bless you with all the situations, devotions and health to complete the book in a week.
Reading: Divide the 51 chapters into seven portions, aiming to complete them within the week.
You can choose to read all chapters at once or divide them into morning and evening sessions.
Offering: Offer Prasad (fruits, dry fruits, etc.) to Baba daily, or after completing the reading.
Completion: Finish reading by Wednesday evening. I usually read all the chapter by Wednesday and read the Aarti after the morning prayer on Thursday.
Final Offering: Offer Prasad or Dakshina to Baba at your home temple or a Sai temple.

Important Points:
Sai Baba emphasizes patience and faith (Saboori and Nishta) above all else, so focus on sincere prayer and remembrance of his teachings.
Reading the Satcharitra with devotion is believed to fulfill desires and bring blessings.
There’s no strict rule on the number of chapters to read at a time, as long as you complete all 51 within the week.

In my personal experience – I have felt that whether you finish the Sai Satsaritram book in seven days is also decided by Sai Baba himself. Some times I have finished and sometimes I haven’t. On days when I haven’t finished, I just pray again to Sai Baba to help me finish it the next time. No regrets and I don’t consider it as a bad omen or sign.
