Recently, we have seen many posts about Panchami and Varahi amman, right? I believe most of you might know what panchami is? Panchami refers to the fifth day after Amavasya or Pournami. Similarly, some of the common days of the lunar calendar or thithi we might be aware are the ashtami, navami, and ekadashi. Have you ever wondered what the other days are? If no, lets get deeper into the Tamil thithi & associated Gods with the particular thithi.
1st day after amavasya or poornima – பிரதமை
2nd day after amavasya or poornima – துவிதியை
3rd day after amavasya or poornima – திருதியை
4th day after amavasya or poornima – சதுர்த்தி
5th day after amavasya or poornima – பஞ்சமி
6th day after amavasya or poornima – சஷ்டி
7th day after amavasya or poornima – சப்தமி
8day after amavasya or poornima – அஷ்டமி
9th day after amavasya or poornima – நவமி
10th day after amavasya or poornima – தசமி
11th day after amavasya or poornima – ஏகாதசி
12th day after amavasya or poornima – துவாதசி
13th day after amavasya or poornima – திரயோதசி
14day after amavasya or poornima – சதுர்த்தசி
15th day – அமாவாசை பௌர்ணமி
Now, lets see which Gods to pray on which thithi. For a few, we alll know Like –
Chathurthi – Lord Ganesha
Panchami – Varahi Amman
Sashti – Lord Murugan
Ashtami – Kala Bhairavar
Navami – Lord Ram
Ekadhashi – Lord Perumal
Amavasya and Pournami – All forms of Amman and Lord Shiva
I am not aware of other thithi & associated Gods. Different websites are suggesting different Gods. So, I would like to hear from you all on which God to pray on which thithi. Please drop your comments
