
Amazon Product Compliance Senior Associate role falls under Amazon GSRC (Global Security and Risk Compliance). This is a full time on-site role and the work is usually carried out in Pune and Bangalore Amazon. Most processes under GSRC are shift based and associates work usually from 9.00 am – 6.00 pm. There is no overtime here and you are expected to finish you targets by 6.00 PM sharp. This is purely a non-tech role through Amazon hires engineering grads predominantly for this. The Compliance Operations (C-Ops) team ensures that Amazon transactions satisfy legal and safety requirements in accordance to the guidelines across global marketplaces. We proactively identify risks involved for Amazon while doing business in various countries and enable smooth flow of products across international borders. A Sr. Compliance Associate is responsible for protecting Amazon customers from products that are illegal, hazardous, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited /regulated by Law and Amazon policies. Duties may also include defining, applying, and defending regulatory policy and contractual requirements.
Skills
• Proficiency in verbal & written communication in English
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Outlook; MS Excel proficiency is an advantage.
• Strong attention to details.
• Ability to analyze and identify patterns in large data sets.
• Decision making aptitudes based on given guidelines and in ambiguous contexts.
• Must be comfortable working with large data sets
Very good knowledge and experience in internet navigation and research – finding specific information about products in a timely manner.
Amazon Product Compliance Associate/Senior Associate Key job responsibilities
Your job responsibilities as a Sr. Compliance Associate may include:
• Report violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative and corrective procedures
• Classify products based on SOP
• Follow SOP and instructions provided by managers
• Provides ideas for process improvements to enhance process efficiency, quality and customer experience
• Respond to stakeholders with guidance and flags any updates to Lead/Manager.
On a general note, you will be given daily product classification targets to do or cases to resolve. Amazon will give you in-depth classroom training for all the roles followed by weeks of OJT. Then, you will be deployed into processes where you will still have mentors for the first 1-2 weeks to handhold until gain a hang.
If you ask if the role is challenging, I would say “Mostly No”. You might find it difficult in the first 3-4 weeks with extensions being given for non-performance during your training. However, you will slowly get a hang of both the SOPs and the processes overall. While a few processes involve customer interaction, most do not. If you are an engineer who simply cannot code, this can be a decent job with decent pay (4.5 lpa for freshers). However, you may feel the frustration of a non-tech role in a few months. So, you can join this, keep doing some tech courses or practice IT skills and try to move to other tech jobs through Amazon IJP(Internal Job posting).
