Varahi Amman is worshipped by lakhs and lakhs of people worldwide. She is one of the sapta matrikas and served as the army chief of Goddess Rajarajeshwari. She is know to protect her devotees from all sorts of evil eyes, negativity, and even the cruelest of black magic. There is also a story that Raja Roja Cholan was an ardent devotee of Shri Maha Varahi and would go to the battlefield only after seeking Maha Varahi Devi’s blessings. Here, I share with you all the lyrics of Shri Varahi Gayatri Mantra in English and Tamil. Chant this 108 times everyday or an auspicous days like Panchami, Ashtami, Amavasya, and Pournami to get Her blessings abundantly.

How to pray Varahi Amman
- If you have a picture of the Goddess, place it on an altar. Apply sandalwood and kumkum on Her forehead. Offer flowers like arali(olenader) and jasmine.
- Light a dhiya. Best if the dhiya points to North direction.
- Offer neivedhiyam like boiled sweet potatoes, spicy urad dhal vada, pomegranate, or puliogare.
- Chant the mantra for 108 times using jaba/rosary mala to keep track of the number of times you chant.
- End the pooja with karpoor aarthi and sambharani or dasangam powder.
Best day and time to pray Varahi Amman:
The auspicious days to do Varahi Pooja are Amavasya, Pournami, Ashtami, Panchami and all Fridays.
The best time to pray this powerful Goddess is between 8.00 PM and 10.00 PM.
