Every pooja starts with a prayer to Lord Ganesha – the remover of all obstacles. Paalum Theli Thaenum is one of the simplest and most beautiful hymn written by Avvaiyaar on Lord Ganesha. While we have heard and come across so many songs and mantra that seek the blessings of God for health, wealth, salvation, peace, protection from enemies, etc, in this song, Avvaiyar demands Lord Ganesh to bless her with the language Tamil in return of her offering.

Word By Word Meaning of Paalum Theli Thaenum

Paalum – Milk
Theli Thenum – Pure Honey
Paagum – Jaggery

Paalum Theli Thaenum English Meaning

Paalum Theli Thaenum for kids

Its always a good thing to teach your kids simple slokas and mantras right from their younger age so that they get spiritually inclined and live a disciplined life forever. If you plan to do so and are wondering where to start, Paalum Theli Thaenum will be the best choice. The words are so simple and words like ‘paal’, ‘paruppu’, ‘thaa’ or all commonly used in Tamil households and so the kids will be able to grasp it faster and better. And so, start teaching them words by words along with the meaning and enjoy watching them recite this hymn in their mazhlai voice.
