ஆறிரு தடந்தோள் வாழ்க is a poem in Thirupugazh. Thirupugazh, meaning ‘Divine Praise’, is a revered anthology of Tamil poetic works dedicated to Lord Murugan. Composed by the saint-poet Arunagirinathar in the 15th century, it’s celebrated for its musical, poetical, philosophical, and moral content. Thirupugazh, which literally translates to ‘Glory to the Lord’, is considered a major religious work in the medieval era of Tamil literature.
ஆறிரு தடந்தோள் வாழ்க
ஆறுமுகம் வாழ்க – வெற்பைக்
கூறுசெய் தனிவேல் வாழ்க
குக்குடம் வாழ்க – செவ்வேள்
ஏறிய மஞ்சை வாழ்க
யானைதன் அணங்கு வாழ்க
மாறில்லா வள்ளி வாழ்க
வாழ்க சீர் அடியார் எல்லாம்.
