மாசில் வீணையும் மாலை மதியமும் – Song 10 – Meaning in English

விறகில் தீயினன் பாலில் படு நெய் போல்

மறைய நின்றுளன் மாமணிச் சோதியான்

Just like the fire hidden in the wood and the ghee hidden in the milk and the glow of the precious Ruby hidden in an unpolished Ruby stone, Lord Shiva  is also present yet, in an invisible way to the normal human eyes.

 

உறவுக் கோல் நட்டு உணர்வுக் கயிற்றினால்

முறுக வாங்கிக் கடைய முன் நிற்குமே

In these two lines, Thirunavukkarasar tells us the way to find Lord Shiva who seems beyond sight. We first need to establish a strong devotee relationship with the Almighty and use that relationship as the the churner (மத்து) to find Lord Shiva hidden within oneself.

 

One such similar context can also be found Sai Baba’s Sai Satcharithram book chapter 1. In that chapter, we can see Sai Baba quoting His disciples to use knowledge and wisdom as the rod in ancient atta chakki to get rid of worldly pleasure and to seek the God himself.
