மாசில் வீணையும் மாலை மதியமும் Lyrics in Tamil
Hymn 1 – Meaning in English
In this hymn, Thirunavukkarasar beautifully describes the ultimate bliss that devotees will get when they take refuge in Lord Shiva’s holy feet.
மாசில் வீணையும் – The flawless alluring music of the Veena
மாலை மதியமும் – The beautiful moon that comes in the evening
வீசு தென்றலும் – The gentle caressing breeze
வீங்கிள வேனிலும் – The warm and pleasant months of Venil (Chithirai(April – May) and Vaikasi(May – June))
மூசு வண்டறை பொய்கையும் – பொய்கை is the natural spring or pond that looks mesmerizingly beautiful with several flowering plants and bushes that are surrounded by lots of bees making the buzzing sound (மூசு வண்டறை )
போன்றதே -Like all the above
ஈச னெந்தை யிணையடி நீழலே – Just as the above scenes are cool, refreshing, and pleasant, the one who surrenders himself and takes shelter at Lord Shiva’s feet will feel surreal bliss always despite the worldly circumstances.
