Abirami Andhadi – Poem 13 – பூத்தவளே புவனம் பதினான்கையும் – Meaning in English

பூத்தவளே புவனம் பதினான்கையும் – Dear Abirami Devi! The one who created the 14 lokas. As per Hinduism, there exist 7 upperworlds and 7 underworlds. The 7 heavens are Satyaloka, Tapaloka, Janaloka, Maharloka, Svarloka, Bhuvarloka and Bhurloka. There 7 hells are Atalaloka, Vitalaloka, Sutalaloka, Talatalaloka, Mahatala Loka, Rasatala Loka, and Patala Loka.

பூத்தவண்ணம் காத்தவளே – Just as you had created the 14 worlds, you also take care of them.

பின்கரந்தவளே – Later, You yourself had taken over them (the 14 worlds) too.

கறைக் கண்டனுக்கு மூத்தவளே – கறைக் கண்டன் is Lord Shiva. Abirami Pattar says Devi Abirami is elder to Lord Shiva.  He says so because it is believed that Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva were formed from the Adishakthi herself.

என்றும் மூவா முகுந்தற்கு இளையவளே – என்றும் மூவா means the one who never ages forever. முகுந்தற்கு denotes Lord Perumal. இளையவளே – Here, Abirami Amman is described as the younger sister of Lord Perumal

மாத்தவளே – Devi, who has performed deep and intense penance.

உன்னை அன்றிமற்றோர் தெய்வம் வந்திப்பதே – Pattar says, “When Abirami Amman, who possesses all the above-mentioned holiness is there to save and protect me, what is the need for me to pray to any other God.”
