September 20, 2015 by Vidhyaa Leave a Comment

Hoodi is one of the developing villages in the Bangalore suburbs. Close to ITPL, Whitefield, Marthahalli and Mahadevpura, no wonder Bangalore is becoming a real estate centric place. Loads and loads of residential and commercial projects are propping up like mushrooms. For all Hoodi village residents, let me list the temples in Hoodi , between Hoodi Circle and the Hoodi railway cross.Temples in Hoodi, Bangalore

1. Sri Maha Ganapathy Temple

This is one of the biggest temples in Hoodi and the main deity is Maha Ganapathy. Located in the junction, it is very popular among the local residents. Genesha Pooja is the biggest festival in this temple.

2. Nandeeshwara Temple

The Nandeeshwara temple, opposite City Super Bazaar and in front of Meghana Hospital is a very small yet powerful temple. Main deity is Lord Shiva in the form of Shivaling. Milk abhishekam for Lingam is very popular on Mondays and Pradhosham days. On Maha Shivarathri, this temple has a festive importance.

3. The big tree under the flyover
There is a big tree where the hoodi flyover starts and there are statues for Naga devi and few people adorn them with turmeric powder and light lemon lamps.

4. Lakshmi Narayan Temple
The main deity is Vishnu. This temple has been renovated recently.

5. Om Shakthi Temple

The main deity is Maa Durga. This temple is very famous for keeping away drishtis. Temple gets loaded with women on Fridays during the Raagu kaalam(10.30 AM to 12.00PM). People lights lamps on lemons during these hours. The Maha mangala aarti performed on Friday evening around 7.45 PM is also very famous around the local residents.
